With more than two decades of experience advising clients on their personal and corporate finances, Robert Whelan leads Rockwell Financial Management with a focus on clarity, trust, and measurable results.
Before launching Rockwell Financial Management, Robert spent ten years at Cornmarket Group Financial Services, where he served as Head of Business Retention. His decision to establish Rockwell in 2012 came from a clear vision: to build an independent firm that puts clients first while using smart, data-driven tools to plan for the future.
As Managing Director, Robert leads a growing team of advisers. They support individuals, business owners and SMEs across financial planning, pensions, investment management and long-term wealth strategies. Under his leadership, Rockwell has built a reputation for plain speaking, transparency and results.
In 2024 he was named CEO of the Year (Small Business) at the Business Post Leadership Excellence Awards. The recognition reflects the firm’s progress and Robert’s focus on high standards, practical innovation and trust across the business.

I’ve always believed that financial advice should do more than grow numbers. It should bring peace of mind. That belief guides our work at Rockwell. When I write, my aim is to share ideas that help people feel more confident about their money, their plans and their next step.
Over the years, I’ve seen how the right guidance can change outcomes. It isn’t about jargon or market noise. It’s about clear choices, steady direction and the comfort of having someone in your corner. Writing helps me turn daily work into plain, useful notes for more people, from business owners to families getting started.
Outside work, I stay curious. I read a lot, listen to podcasts, and still follow Liverpool with the same enthusiasm I had growing up in Carlow. Those habits keep me learning and asking better questions. They help keep the advice practical and grounded.
