Job Description:

Position Overview:

The Head of Financial Planning is responsible for leading the Financial Planning team at Rockwell Financial Management. This position involves overseeing a team of financial advisors, each responsible for meeting individual revenue and compliance targets.

The role requires a strategic leader who can ensure that departmental revenue objectives are met, while maintaining high standards of compliance and client service. The Head of Financial Planning will be supported by best in class Operational Technology solutions to facilitate a frictionless client experience. They will work closely with the Financial Services Director to align team performance with the company’s goals.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Leadership & Team Management

    • Lead, motivate, train and develop a team of currently 7 financial advisors.
    • Set individual performance targets for revenue generation and compliance and monitor progress.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to the team to ensure professional growth and client success.
    • Oversee recruitment for the Financial Planning team, ensuring that high-calibre candidates are hired to meet business needs.

2. Sales Management

    • Drive departmental revenue performance to meet or exceed issued business targets.
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase business opportunities and ensure revenue growth across all business lines of Pensions, Investments & Protection.
    • Monitor and report on performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

3. Compliance Oversight

    • Ensure the team meets compliance targets in accordance with regulatory standards.
    • Collaborate with the compliance team to establish robust processes for managing client documentation and adhering to financial planning regulations.
    • Regularly review and update compliance procedures to reflect changes in regulations.

4. Client Engagement & Relationship Management

    • Promote client-centric approaches to financial planning, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
    • Lead by example in maintaining strong relationships with key clients and identifying new business opportunities.
    • Oversee the quality of financial planning services provided by the team, ensuring that advice given is aligned with company standards and regulatory requirements.

5. Strategic Planning & Reporting

    • Develop and execute the strategic plan for the Financial Planning department, in line with the company’s broader goals.
    • Provide regular reports to the Financial Services Director on departmental performance, including revenue, compliance, and advisor productivity metrics.
    • Work closely with other senior leaders to support business initiatives and contribute to strategic decision-making.

6. Training & Development

    • Identify training needs within the team and implement programs to address gaps in skills or knowledge.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development, encouraging advisors to stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in financial planning or wealth management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Qualified Financial Advisor (QFA) designation or equivalent required
  • Proven track record of leading a team to achieve revenue and compliance targets
  • Strong knowledge of Irish financial regulations and best practices in financial planning
  • Proven ability to meet personal revenue targets
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic plans to meet business objectives
  • A client-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality financial planning services
  • An appreciation for technology  including CRM applications
